Lucknow: Marking the 12th International Day of Yoga, Max Hospital, Lucknow organized a special wellness event aimed at promoting holistic health and well-being. The programme witnessed enthusiastic participation from more than 500 people, reflecting the growing popularity of yoga as a community-driven movement.
The event was attended by Uttar Pradesh Deputy Chief Minister Brajesh Pathak as the chief guest. Activities began at 5:00 a.m. and included a community yoga session, expert talks, and health awareness initiatives designed to encourage healthy lifestyles and preventive healthcare practices.
Participants actively took part in yoga and pranayama sessions, learning techniques that promote physical fitness, mental well-being, and emotional balance. The programme sought to raise awareness about the benefits of yoga and inspire people to incorporate the ancient practice into their daily routines.
Speaking on the occasion, Dr. Asit Kumar, Consultant – Geriatric and Internal Medicine at Max Hospital, highlighted the significance of yoga in modern life. He said that yoga is India’s invaluable gift to the world and has gained global recognition for its health benefits. Describing yoga as more than just physical exercise, he emphasized its role as a therapeutic discipline that helps address the challenges of today’s sedentary lifestyle by bringing focus to both body and mind.

The event concluded with participants taking a pledge to make yoga an integral part of their daily lives. Attendees were also offered free consultations on heart health and lifestyle management, followed by healthy refreshments, reinforcing the message of preventive healthcare and overall wellness.
